The agreement
These Terms are an agreement between you and Elev8 Corp. ("Elev8", "we"), based in the Republic of Korea. They apply to the Elev8 website at elev8x.io, our event pages such as elev8.tw, and the Elev8 member app for iOS and Android ("the App"), together "the Services". By using the Services you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.
Membership is by invitation only
Elev8 is a private, invitation-only network for working leaders. Requesting an invitation does not guarantee one. We review every request personally, a current member must vouch for you, and we may decline or revoke membership at our discretion without giving a reason. You must be at least 18 and able to enter into a binding agreement.
Invite codes and accounts
- An invite code is personal to the person it was issued to. It may be used once and must not be shared, sold or transferred.
- You sign in to the App with your email address. Keep access to that email secure and tell us at once if you believe someone else is using your account.
- The information in your profile, including your superpower and challenge sentences, must be true, current and your own. Elev8 works only if members can rely on what they read.
- You are responsible for everything done through your account.
How members treat each other
Elev8 rooms are off the record. That only works if every member keeps to it. As a member you agree to:
- Keep it confidential — do not repeat, record or attribute what another member shares in an introduction, at a table or in a message, unless they agree.
- Show up as a peer — give as well as take; be honest about what you have and have not done.
- No selling, recruiting or soliciting — introductions are for help and advice, not for pitching products, services, investment or jobs, unless the other member asks.
- No harassment or discrimination — treat every member and guest with respect.
- Use the Services lawfully — no unlawful, misleading, infringing or harmful content; no attempts to scrape, disrupt, or gain unauthorised access to the Services or other members’ information.
We may suspend or end your membership if you breach these rules, and we will usually tell you why.
Your content
You own what you write and upload. You give Elev8 a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, display and share your profile and your superpower and challenge sentences with the members we introduce you to, and to use them to make introductions and run the Services, for as long as you are a member and as described in our Privacy Policy. You can edit or remove your content at any time, and we will stop using it except where we must keep a record.
Events
- Seats at Elev8 gatherings are limited and allocated at our discretion. A confirmed seat is personal and cannot be transferred.
- Please tell us in advance if you cannot attend. Repeated no-shows may affect future invitations.
- We may take photographs and video at events for our recap. Tell our team on the night if you would prefer not to appear, and we will respect that.
- Some events are co-hosted with partners. Your details are shared with a partner only with your agreement, as set out in our Privacy Policy.
- Elev8 is not responsible for venues, food, travel or anything provided by third parties at an event.
Elev8 property
The Elev8 name, mark, the design of the Services, and all content we create, including the superpower map, remain the property of Elev8 Corp. or its licensors. You may use the Services for your own, non-commercial membership. You may not copy, modify, distribute or create derivative works from them without our written permission.
The App
The App is licensed to you, not sold, for use on devices you own or control, under these Terms. We may update the App from time to time and may require you to install updates to keep using it. If you downloaded the App from the Apple App Store, Apple’s standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies, and Apple is not responsible for the App or for support. If you downloaded it from Google Play, Google’s terms also apply.
The App may send you push notifications about introductions, messages and events. You can turn them off in your device settings.
Advice, introductions and disclaimers
What members share with each other is their own experience and opinion, offered peer to peer. It is not professional, legal, financial or investment advice, and Elev8 does not verify it. You decide what to do with it.
The Services are provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we make no warranties about the Services, about any introduction, or about the conduct of any member or partner.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Elev8 will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive loss, or any loss of profit, business, data or goodwill, arising from your use of the Services or any introduction or event. Our total liability to you for any claim will not exceed the amount you paid us, if any, in the twelve months before the claim arose. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Ending membership
You can leave Elev8 at any time by writing to us at andrew@elev8x.io; we will close your account as described in our Privacy Policy. We may suspend or end your access if you breach these Terms, if a member’s vouching is withdrawn, or if we decide to discontinue the Services. Sections about your content, Elev8 property, disclaimers, liability and disputes survive.
Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If a dispute arises, we will first try to resolve it with you in good faith. Any dispute that cannot be resolved that way will be brought in the courts of Seoul, Republic of Korea, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring it elsewhere.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time and will show the new effective date at the top. If a change is material, we will tell you by email or in the App before it takes effect. Continuing to use the Services after that date means you accept the change.
